Visit our gallery in the Wimberley Community Center
Perhaps one of the most important functions of the Wimberley Valley Art League is the opportunity for member artists to display work in gallery shows. Not only do league members seek and enjoy gaining knowledge and camaraderie from other artists, they value having a venue in which to share their work among each other and the larger public. The Wimberley Valley Art League Gallery is located just inside the Wimberley Community Center at 14068 RR 12, Wimberley, TX
Jurors choose the winners of each show, and are generally chosen from the region. These jurors participate in the art world as artists, gallery owners, curators, or art educators. Many have commented that work from the Wimberley Valley Art League is notable in its quality and diversity.
In addition to member shows, the League hosts a Student Show in the spring. Area schools from primary through high school are invited to participate. Art teachers collect work throughout the academic year to submit to the Student Show.
The gallery shows and by extension, the Gallery Committee, who are tasked with the nuts and bolts, endeavor to provide an opportunity for area artists to show off their creativity and explorations, and also, provide an example and pathway for our up and coming artists in the community.
